A Closer Look at Summer Evenings

The beloved annual tradition of summertime chamber music at Alice Tully Hall returns this year with six Summer Evenings performances, from July 7 to July 25, 2026. Concerts take place on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and as always, the series promises an infectious energy that is hard to find anywhere else in the city. "It's always packed, and the crowd is always super loud and enthusiastic," says pianist and composer Michael Stephen Brown, who performs on July 14.  
 
For Brown, though, what makes Summer Evenings truly special goes beyond any single program. "Anyone who says that classical music is dying should come to CMS's Summer Evenings," he says. "It's proof of the contrary."
